Bangkok City Guide

Bangkok-the steamy, crowded, mysterious capital of Thailand, and the funky beating heart of SEA. Home of the Emerald Buddha, no other city in the world evokes quite the range of human expression. Bangkok is the place where you go to get lost or go to find yourself, or find anything at all for that matter.

The modernity of Bangkok (Krung Thep Maha Nakhon in Thai which mean city of angels) match few people’s visions of the capital of exotic Siam. Spiked with scores of highrise buildings of concrete and glass on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, it’s a vast flatness which holds a population of at least nine million, and feels even bigger. Under the shadow of the skyscrapers you’ll find a heady mix of frenetic markets and hushed golden temples, of glossy cutting-edge clubs and early-morning almsgiving ceremonies.

If it’s night life you are seeking, Bangkok is legendary. The streets of Nana, Pat Pong, and Khao San are alive with alcohol and girls (and even ladyboys). Hundreds of higher class clubs exists with the latest European DJs visiting and stirring the dancing masses.

There are so many things to do and so many guides to Bangkok. If you go, pick a few things out and have fun. To beat traffic, ride a Tuk-Tuk once and always bargain for less than what they try to charge you. Lastly, get a massage! This country is truly the “land of smiles.”

Indeed, the city of Bangkok depicts the life of Amazing Thailand.
